Tasting Notes

Nose: dried fruits, chocolate, gentle smoke and a hint of sea air. Palate: raisin, caramel and spice from sherry with Islay peat woven through. Finish: long, with sweet oak, lingering smoke and a touch of salt.

Characteristics

An Islay single malt from Bowmore (EST. 1779), one of the island’s oldest distilleries. The label states “Sherry Oak Cask”: a vatting of hand-selected ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, finished in Pedro Ximénez (PX) sherry casks. Noted for balancing rich sherried depth with Bowmore’s elegant peat smoke and coastal character.
